Cookies policy
Last updated: 28 April 2026
In short: ScoreReady uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember tiny preferences. We don't run analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies ScoreReady stores in your browser, and why. It supplements our Privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser. Some are needed to make the site work (for example, to keep you signed in). Others are used for analytics or advertising. We only use the first kind.
2. Cookies we set ourselves (first-party)
Summary: a session cookie so you stay signed in, and one preference cookie so we don't replay the voice intro every time you load an exercise.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
next-auth.session-token |
Keeps a teacher signed in to their dashboard. Without it, you would have to log in on every page. | 30 days, refreshed on activity | Strictly necessary |
sr-session-{accessCode} |
Keeps a student signed in to a specific exercise after the email gate, so they can return to the same recording session. | Up to 12 months | Strictly necessary |
sr-intro-seen |
Remembers that this device has already seen the spoken introduction at the start of an exercise, so we can skip it next time. | Up to 12 months, per device | Strictly necessary preference |
None of these cookies are shared with third parties or used for advertising. The session cookies use the HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax flags, and they are sent only over HTTPS in production.
3. Third-party cookies
Summary: only Stripe, and only during checkout.
- Stripe — when you check out, Stripe may set cookies in your browser to detect fraud and to keep your card details secure during the payment flow. These cookies are set on Stripe's domain and are subject to Stripe's cookies policy. We don't read or share these cookies.
4. Cookies we do not use
To be clear, ScoreReady does not use:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any other web analytics service.
- Advertising or remarketing cookies (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads, no LinkedIn Insight, etc.).
- Session-replay tools (no Hotjar, FullStory, LogRocket, etc.).
- Product analytics tools (no PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Plausible, Umami, Fathom, or similar).
If we ever introduce optional analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before storing anything.
5. Local storage
For the recording experience we cache audio chunks in browser-side IndexedDB so that a poor internet connection doesn't lose your work. This data lives only in your browser, is associated with the active exercise, and is cleared once your recording has been uploaded successfully.
6. Your choices
Because the cookies above are strictly necessary, blocking them will break sign-in and recording. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers let you control cookies in their privacy settings — see aboutcookies.org for guidance.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if we add, remove, or change any cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
8. Contact
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please contact support.
