In short: ScoreReady is an IELTS Speaking practice tool. Teachers subscribe; students record audio that we transcribe and grade. AI feedback is a study aid, not an official IELTS score. Be respectful, don't record people without consent, and pay for the credits you use.

These terms govern your use of ScoreReady, an IELTS Speaking practice platform operated from the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using any part of ScoreReady, you accept these terms in full.

1. The service

Summary: a web app for English teachers to set IELTS Speaking exercises and have students record answers, with optional AI feedback.

ScoreReady focuses on the IELTS Speaking module: cue cards, Part 1/2/3 question sets, and conversation-style prompts. Teachers create exercises, share access links, and review student submissions. Students record audio responses through the browser, which we transcribe and (on Pro+AI plans) grade with an AI model. We are not affiliated with the British Council, IDP, or Cambridge — they own and administer the official IELTS test.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a teacher account.
  • Students under 18 may use the service only when a teacher has obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your sign-in credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Subscription plans

Summary: Free for getting started, Pro to record audio, Pro+AI to add automatic grading. Prices are in GBP and billed monthly via Stripe.

  • Free — up to 3 exercises, share via link or QR code, live classroom presenting, session tracking. No audio recording or AI feedback.
  • Pro — £10/month. Unlimited exercises, audio recording for students, teacher review queue, recording downloads.
  • Pro+AI — £20/month. Everything in Pro, plus AI-powered speech feedback (fluency, grammar, vocabulary, coherence) and 100 AI feedback attempts per month.

Prices shown are the current defaults; the live pricing page always reflects what you will be charged. We may change prices for new subscriptions; existing subscribers will get at least 30 days' notice of any price increase that affects their plan.

4. Credits and top-ups

Summary: audio credits and AI feedback credits are separate. Once a credit is consumed, it isn't refundable.

  • Audio credits let students record audio. Pro and Pro+AI plans include monthly audio credits; you can buy top-up packs at any time.
  • AI feedback credits are used when a recording is sent for AI grading. Pro+AI plans include 100 per month; top-ups are available.
  • Top-up packs are valid for 90 days from purchase.
  • Credits are consumed when a recording is submitted (audio) or when AI feedback is generated (AI). Consumed credits are non-refundable, including if recordings are subsequently deleted, exercises are removed, or accounts are closed.
  • Free monthly credits do not roll over between billing periods.

5. Payments and refunds

Summary: Stripe handles every payment. Unconsumed credits or unused subscription time can be refunded at our discretion within 14 days.

  • All payments — subscription fees and credit top-ups — are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance. You can cancel any time and access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase for unconsumed credits or unused subscription time. Refunds are at our discretion and processed via the original payment method through Stripe.
  • We do not refund consumed AI feedback or audio credits.
  • Failed payments may result in subscription downgrade or feature suspension after a short grace period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use ScoreReady for unlawful purposes.
  • Record or upload any audio of a third party without their informed consent. If you are a teacher, you must ensure students understand that their recordings are processed by external AI services.
  • Record sensitive personal information (medical, financial, ID numbers) — recordings are processed by third-party AI services and should contain only IELTS-style speaking practice.
  • Upload content that is offensive, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other users' data, or our infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, mirror, or extract data from the platform.
  • Resell or sublicense the service to third parties without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

7. AI-generated feedback — what it is and isn't

Summary: AI feedback is a study aid. It is not an official IELTS score and may be wrong.

  • All scores, band estimates, and written feedback produced by ScoreReady are generated by AI.
  • They are intended as a learning aid only and are not a substitute for assessment by a qualified IELTS examiner.
  • They do not represent official IELTS scoring or any form of certification.
  • They may contain errors, omissions, or inconsistencies.

8. Service availability

Summary: best-effort uptime. No formal SLA, especially on the Free tier.

We aim to keep ScoreReady online and working, but we provide the service "as is" and on a best-effort basis. There is no service-level agreement on the Free tier. For Pro and Pro+AI subscribers we will let you know about extended planned maintenance via email when we can. Some features depend on third-party services (transcription, grading, payment) which may have their own outages outside our control.

9. Intellectual property

  • Your content: teachers retain ownership of the exercises and material they create. Students retain ownership of their recordings. By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, transcribe, grade, and display it as part of running the service.
  • Our platform: the ScoreReady code, design, branding, and AI prompts are our intellectual property.
  • Feedback to us: if you send us suggestions or ideas, we may use them to improve the service without further obligation.

10. Data and privacy

Use of ScoreReady is also governed by our Privacy policy and Cookies policy.

11. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time via support.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that pose a risk to the service.
  • On termination, your data is deleted in line with our Privacy policy. Consumed credits and unused subscription time are not refunded except as set out in section 5.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • ScoreReady is provided "as is" with no implied warranties.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including missed exam preparation outcomes or lost recordings.
  • Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
